ROAD and rail closures are still causing extensive delays for travellers across Yorkshire. Here are the latest details on closures and service cancellations.
Roads affected:

NORTH YORKSHIRE
Northallerton area
  • Kirby Wiske village – closed from A167 to depth markers on the Maunby road


  • Thirsk area
  • A167 South Otterington – passable with care


  • Bedale area
  • C36 Hackforth to jnct for Langthorne – passable with care

  • Station Road, Scruton – passable with care

  • B6267 to Home village – passable with care

  • Well village to B6267 – passable with care

  • Well village – passable with care

  • EAST YORKSHIRE
    Drivers are urged to drive sensibly and carefully. Do not ignore warning signs.

  • Buttercrambe Road, Stamford Bridge

  • B1246 Kilnwick Percy

  • Arram Green, East of Leconfield

  • B1253 between Boynton and Bridlington passable with care

  • TRAINS:
  • Halifax to Huddersfield - no train service due to flooding near Brighouse. A replacement bus service is in operation.


  • Selby to Wakefield via Bradford Interchange / Huddersfield - amended service due to flooding at Brighouse. Services between Selby, Leeds, Bradford Interchange, Halifax, Huddersfield & Wakefield will operate between Bradford Interchange and Halifax, with a replacement bus service between Halifax and Huddersfield and Huddersfield and Wakefield Westgate. A replacement bus service is also in operation between Hebden Bridge and Dewsbury.


  • This disruption is expected to continue until the end of service on Sunday 27 January.


    Elsewhere:

  • Swindon to Bristol Parkway open on temporary basis only followign a landslip.

  • For Friday 25th January, First Great Western plan to run off peak hourly service only in both directions between London Paddington and Swansea, with extended journey times of 30 minutes.
    CrossCountry passengers travelling to/from South Wales should change at Bristol Temple Meads or Cheltenham Spa
    Line will close over weekend, to reopen on Monday 28 January.
    Flooding between Machynlleth and Shrewsbury on Arriva Trains Wales service between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth/ Pwllheli.

  • Rail services are running between Birmingham and Shrewsbury with buses in operation between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth.


  • Rail services will operate between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth but NO rail or road services are able to operate between Pwllheli and Dovey Junction and passengers are advised not to travel.


  • Flooding in the Llanrwst area, between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno Junction
    Replacement road transport is in operation between Blaenau Ffestiniog and North Llanrwst, connecting with rail services between North Llanrwst and Llandudno Junction.
