Children's Theatre saddle up for Oklahoma
Yee-Hah! Get ready to saddle up and mosey along to the Leighton Buzzard Theatre to watch some of the area's talented young troupers in action.
The Leighton Buzzard Children's Theatre group are performing Rogers and Hammerstein's musical western Oklahoma! from Thursday to Saturday, February 5 to 7.
The show promises colour, song, dance, sweetness and sadness in a story that follows young Laury and cowboy Curly as they refuse to admit they are in love – until it's almost too late.
Famous songs include Oh What A Beautiful Morning, The Surrey With The Fringe On Top, Cain't Say No and many more.
The 60 youngsters form two casts under the direction of Sally Allsopp with additional assistance from Bridget Whittaker.
The two casts are split into a younger group aged 13 to 15 who will perform on Friday at 7.30pm and Saturday at 2pm and the older youth section who will perform on Thursday and Saturday at 7.30pm.
The players include young people who have worked with the group for over 10 years including Matthew Lee who plays Curly, Adam Smart as Ali Hakim and Eleanor Cloake as Aunt Eller.
All four performances are in aid of Cancer Research UK.
