Medieval banquet for Leighton's Living History Day.
A MEDIEVAL banquet is planned to round off Leighton's Living History Day heritage celebrations on October 11.

The feast is being held in the main hall at Leighton Middle School and will feature a four-course menu specially selected to reflect traditional medieval dishes such as wild boar, roasted chicken and pork, vegetables, salads, breads and cheeses as well as a medieval subtlety (dessert).

Tickets are on sale now and cost £22 each which includes a glass of wine or mead, a place at table, a sumptuous meal and entertainment from jesters, musicians and dancers.

A traditional tavern will be selling fruit wines, meads and cask ales and guests will be invited to observe medieval etiquette.

People attending the festival are encouraged to wear medieval costume, although this is not necessary.

Places are limited so tickets will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. The event will be a lively and enjoyable end to the heritage day festivities and rumour has it there will be an uninvited knight demanding entry to the feast.

For more information and to book your seat at the feast, telephone (01525) 631915, or call in at the town council's offices at The White House, Hockliffe Street, during normal business hours.
