A MODEL with a super chassis will be in Leighton on Sunday when Miss UK will be a special guest at the annual Mini GP.
You won't get to see a mini adventure through the streets of the town but the lovely Hayley Mac will be attempting to drape herself over the bonnets of some nifty little numbers at Brooklands Middle School, Brooklands Drive.
Leighton Buzzard Model Car Club is holding its third annual grand prix for enthusiasts and the event has gone international thanks to sponsorship from Japanese manufacturers,Tamiya, and support from High Street shop, Selections.
Hayley, who also holds the title of Miss Galaxy International, is expected to spend the day at the races and will be on hand to hand out trophies in the afternoon.
More than 60 Mini "drivers", including one from Sweden, will be vying for pole position on the grid and enthusiasts are welcome to drop by to watch the races.
There will also be trade stands for those wanting to indulge their hobby.
Any money raised on the day will be going to the National Gulf Veterans and families Association.
The Leighton Buzzard Model Car Club meets at Brooklands Middle School every Tuesday evening. For more information go to the club's website
