New season of concerts
Leighton Buzzard Music's new concert season opens at the town's Lake Street Theatre this Saturday, September 20, with the Merchant String Quartet.

This fine ensemble is made up of members of the BBC Symphony Orchestra – one of the country's finest orchestras, which has featured so often in this year's BBC Proms.

The quartet enjoys a parallel career as chamber musicians when their orchestral commitments allow, and for their concert at the Leighton Buzzard Theatre they will be playing Haydn's "Bird" Quartet, Op 33 No 2, Ravel's sumptuous Quartet in F, and one of the supreme works in the repertoire, Schubert's String Quintet in C, in which they will be joined by cellist Benedict Rogerson.

Tickets are on sale at the theatre Box Office: 01582 818801.
