Rock bands inject energy
LEIGHTON music pub The Wheatsheaf has three gigs lined up this week.
On Friday (March 21) "fiery foursome" The Ruby Shoes take the throbbing aspects of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands that have ever existed and create something fresh with grit and a hint of glam.
The band is a relatively new act from Luton, although all four have been playing for years and have been in many bands before, including Surefire (now Red Star Rebels), Third Law, Ionic and The Mighty Sixteen.
Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, T-Rex – these are but some of the many influences of The Ruby Shoes' music and they have been compared to The Zutons, The Darkness, Jet and The Kings of Leon.
Southside Jimmy make a return visit to the North Street pub on Saturday.
SSJ are a four-piece rock band based in Milton Keynes and reflect the energy of the new city in their music.
Their sets consist of good guitar rock from The Stones to the Stone Roses and beyond, covering tracks from Feeder, the Foo Fighters and the Manics to name but a few.
Bank Holiday Monday afternoon sees The Corairs on stage with their rockabilly 'punk style' and punk tunes!
