ARRANGEMENTS for this year's May Day Fayre are under starter's orders and plenty of fun and entertainment is planned to make Monday May 5 a galloping success here in Leighton.
The bank holiday fun is organised by the Rotary Club. Parson's Close rec will be transformed into a donkey derby track, a fun dog show arena and a stage for a 'Midlands' round of Britain's Strongest Man.

Plus your fun-loving Leighton Buzzard Observer will be there promoting it's Give It a Go! Campaign with a climbing wall – all contributing to this year's theme of "Sporty Leighton".

And you can bet all the stalls will be in the High Street as in previous years.

The strongest man competition will feature many of the best known challenges, such as the log press, atlas stone rolling and a van dead lift. Sixteen muscle-rippling men are taking part so far and it's not too late to enter if you are an aspiring strongman. Call Extreme Fitness on (01525) 850770.

Also making a debut is a new group made up of local retailers who want to promote the town. More will be revealed about this on May Day, but do familiarise yourself with the logo: I love (heart) LB, and don't forget to pick up all your freebies from their stall!

Check out April 8's issue of the LBO when you will receive your free Give It A Go Magazine containing lots of amazing offers including a chance to use an outdoor climbing wall at the event.
