JAZZ fans who like listening to their favourite music in an informal atmosphere might like to know that The Open Band is playing at the Leighton Buzzard Theatre next Wednesday (May 21).
The concert is in association with the Leighton Buzzard Arts Forum and starts at 8pm. Box office: 01582 818801.

The Open Band was formed in 1995 for musicians of varying abilities who want to play jazz with others and learn more about improvisation. It meets on Thursday evenings in Woburn Village Hall.

There is also a jazz jamming session every second Thursday in the month when all musicians are welcome.

They play a varied repertoire of favourite jazz and swing standards from Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller to Herbie Hancock and Quincy Jones. They perform regularly, both as a big band and also as a smaller jazz group.

To find out more, log onto www.theopenband.co.uk or telephone John Gates on (01525) 371739.
