THIS is the mammoth appliance Leighton firefighters now have in their arsenal.
There are only two of these giant water carrying tanks in the county and the Leighton crew got their hands on this piece of kit just this week.

It can carry 1600 gallons of water, about four times more than a normal fire engine, and allows firefighters to immediately tackle blazes instead of finding a source of water.

The crew will now have to travel further afield to tackle incidents though as the water carriers are in short supply, but said they have already been impressed with what it can do.
