Cakes by Shelly, run by Michelle Shulman of Eaton Bray, has announced the launch of its first shop in Leighton Buzzard.

Located in the ‘Wedding Courtyard’ on North Street, the shop will open its door to the public on Sunday when customers have the chance to have a look around the shop and sample the cake delights inside.

Cakes by Shelly, who bake all products fresh to order, will incorporate displays of wedding cakes, cupcake towers, cake pops and cookie favours at the new shop. There will also be a consultation area so brides and grooms can book appointments at the showroom, for a complimentary design and tasting consultation.

Michelle said: “It has been a long ambition of mine to open a cake shop and I am thrilled to finally be doing so. The Wedding Courtyard is the perfect home for Cakes by Shelly.

“With our neighbours including Fogarty Formal Hire, Xquisite Bridal, Love Mum, Wild Orchid and Frockalicious the Wedding Courtyard is a one-stop-shop for brides to be.”

To celebrate its grand opening, Cakes by Shelly will be offering one lucky customer the chance to win a bespoke celebration cake.

The business first launched in 2006 and has created cakes for private, corporate and celebrity clients including Take That, Samantha Faiers (ITV2’s The Only Way is Essex), Cosmopolitan Magazine, Heart FM and the Make a Wish Foundation.

It has won a host of awards including 10+ awards at Cake International and Salon Culinaire, Self Employed Person of the Year 2010 and Ideal Professional Cake Decorator of the Year 2012.
