Fundraising for Leighton’s All Saints Church this Saturday

There’s a special event in Leighton’s All Saints Church on Saturday (September 15) when local people come together to display a wide range of homemade items and goods.

Organiser Janet Wenborn said: “The event is to benefit All Saints Preservation Trust which is currently fundraising to help pay for the next phase of work on the church due to start next month.

“We have more than 30 groups and individuals taking part, showing jams, cakes, jewellery, knitting, cards, paintings, sculpture - and more, and it’s all for sale.

“It will be a great place to stock up the larder for the winter or to buy some early unusual Christmas presents”. The event is open from 10am-3pm, admission is free and the church’s coffee shop will be open for refreshments.

Scaffolding is expected to return to the north side of the church in the next few weeks in preparation for contractors to deal with serious structural problems on the transept. The work will take at least six months to complete.
