Imaginative pupils do it by the book

editorial image

Pupils and staff at Gilbert Inglefield Academy in Leighton Buzzard celebrated World Book Day in style by dressing as book characters.

Costumes ranged from Oompa Loompas to hedgehogs and Little Red Riding Hoods. The school raised more than £450 and will be supporting Book Aid International, which supplies books to schools in sub Saharan Africa.

Librarian Mrs Cloke said: “There was a lot of imagination shown by everyone in putting their book character costumes together, and the money raised for Book Aid International is for a very worthy cause.”

See the March 12 issue of the LBO for more World Book Day pictures.
