It may be chilly, but what about a Christmas cruise?

Christmas cruises throughout December are offering families the chance to experience the Grand Union canal on a festive narrowboat, complete with mince pies and mulled wine.

The four-hour round trips from Nash Mills take place every day this month except for Christmas Day, and will even give budding skippers the chance to steer the boats themselves.

This is the third year that the Christmas cruises have been run by ReachOut Plus, the charity which helps young and disabled people to develop their skills and overcome discrimination.

ReachOut spokesman Sue Barry said: “These trips give people the opportunity to see parts of the canal that they may never otherwise have seen. Not only does it give families the chance to steer and learn about the boat, but it also introduces them to us as a charity.”

The revenue raised from the trips goes straight back into the charity coffers.

You can book by calling 0845 216 0081 or emailing admin@reachoutplus.co.uk. Ticketsare £10 for adults, £8 for children.
