Leighton on TV next week

editorial image

Leighton Buzzard, including its narrow-gauge railway, is expected to appear on primetime BBC television next Tuesday (August 21).

Escape To The Country on BBC2 features a couple looking for a home in south Bedfordshire.

Fronted by presenter Alistair Appleton, it was shot originally in September 2008, and this will be its fourth airing in the UK. The series has also been sold for broadcasting in other countries.

The programme, which starts at 7pm, has been edited into different lengths for different time slots, and as this is the full hour-long version, it is expected to include the sequences showing Leighton Buzzard town centre, the narrow-gauge railway, and the croquet club in Page’s Park.
