M1 overnight road block warnings

editorial image

The installation of overhead gantries on the M1 will affect traffic from Thursday to Saturday night (September 20 - 22).

Carriageways between junctions 12 and 13 will be reduced to one lane in each direction after 10pm.

Bedfordshire Police will then slow traffic down and bring it to a stop for the short period while the gantry is installed.

A spokesman said: “We expect this to take place between midnight and 3am, although it could be later on Saturday.”

The work is expected to be complete with all lanes re-opening by 6am each morning.
