Michelle’s Volunteer of the Year
Scouts, pre-school, playgroups, PTA... Pitstone’s latest Volunteer of the Year, Michelle Lee, has been volunteering for 20 years and has done the lot!
Michelle, who received her award at the Pitstone Annual Assembly on Tuesday, May 1, began her long standing involvement in Scouting with Cubs when her young brother wanted to join, and the local group in Tring needed help. When she and her husband Martin moved to Pitstone in 1993, she became involved with the Ivinghoe and Pitstone Group.
As if a home, with two teenage children and a dog, leading two Beavers colonies, and being Group Scout Leader wasn’t enough, Michelle’s activities in the villages has also included chairing pre-school and playgroups and membership of the PTA committee at Brookmead School.
She now works as a teaching assistant, and has managed to achieve two degrees in what spare time she has and would like to do a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in the future.
