Celebrating the Coronation

editorial image

LBO reader Susan Roscoe sent us in this week’s Down Memory Lane photographer.

It shows her brother Brian Hishon’s school photo from Stanbridge County Primary School which was taken in 1953 to commemorate the Queen’s Coronation.

Brian was 11 years old at the time, just before he left to attend the Cedars Grammar School in Leighton Buzzard.

Susan said: “At the time we were living in Great Billington. I thought it might be appropriate for inclusion in your nostalgia page being that it is the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Year.

“Brian is standing in the back row on the left and I am afraid I cannot name anybody else in the picture, but it may be of interest to those who attended the school with Brian who may be able to identify others.”
