Reader poll gives a clear message – you don’t want this wind farm

THE great turbine debate has been raging on the news and letters pages of the LBO in recent months.
A Heath & Reach turbine twice the height of Leighton’s All Saints Church received planning permission from Central Beds Council last year, barely raising a murmur in the process.
But ever since villagers got wind of a plan to erect a wind farm at Stoke Hammond, it’s been an issue for relentless debate.
The planning application for four turbines at Dorcas Lane will go before Aylesbury Vale District Council’s development control committee later this year.
But before councillors get to vote on this key issue we wanted LBO readers to put forward their views, which we will pass to the council ahead of the meeting.
Our poll, which closed at midday last Tuesday, saw a tremendous response with more than 400 forms returned to us.
And from the results it’s clear readers are opposed to the development.
