A Michelin star chef returned to his former school to pass on his pearls of wisdom to students on how to cook.

Adam Simmonds, who grew up in Leighton Buzzard and used to pot washer at The Globe Inn, Linslade, was invited back to Brooklands Middle School to teach cooking classes as a treat for well-performing children.

The 42-year-old recently starred on Great British Menu, finishing as a runnerup.

Headteacher Steve Harrington-Williams said: “I have tasted the food and it is very good. There is a long history of students doing food technology and I am always amazed at the quality, not only of how the food tastes, but also the presentation. We eat with our eyes don’t we, so that is very important.”
