VIDEO: Harry Potter stars light up Leighton

Waiting for Video...

It was a weekend dedicated to celebrating the community’s Christmas spirit and the people of Leighton Buzzard were more than happy to join in on this year’s festivities.

On Friday night, Leighton Buzzard’s Christmas Festival 2012 got off to an explosive start with the official switch-on of the Christmas lights, followed by the fireworks display that kick-started the celebrations with a bang!

Organisers of the highly anticipated weekend were lucky enough to have Ellie Darcey-Alden and Ryan Turner, who both starred in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two, switch on the lights.

Ryan Turner, 12, who played the character of Hugo Weasley in last year’s film, was delighted to have been a part of the Christmas weekend and even tweeted his near-30,000 followers that he had fun in the town.

Ellie, who plays the young Lily Evans in flashbacks of Harry Potter’s mother and at just 13 years old, was also happy to have been asked as one of the special guests to mark the beginning of Leighton’s Christmas celebrations.
