Villages’ Jubilympics fun

EDLESBOROUGH, Dagnall and Northall villages celebrate Mayday with a free ‘Jubilympics’ day at Edlesborough village green on Saturday, May 5.

The villages’ ‘green man’ will crown the 2012 May Queen at midday, after which there will be maypole fun and dancing for everyone.

Various free competitions for children will run, such as tugs of war and mini-Olympic events, with gold silver and bronze medals presented by MP John Bercow.

At 2pm guests will be treated to a musical selection performed by Dagnall Community Choir.

Then at 2.30pm there will be entertainment from the Great Horwood Silver Band,

Also at 2.30pm, guests will be served Diamond Jubilee cream teas.

A raffle will be drawn at 4pm to finish off a fine day of celebrations.

All afternoon there will be a barbecue with plenty of food for everyone.

There will also be cake stalls, a tombola, books stalls, craft stalls, a jousting mat, a bouncy castle, stocks and much more.
