Working from home? How about working in bed?

A new survey has revealed that more than one in three of us not only works at home, but works without getting out of bed.

With 35 per cent of people saying that they or their partners work from bed, it is unsurprising that people complain they don’t feel work ever stops.

In fact, five per cent of those who say they do work from bed admit to averaging two hours a day!

Of those admitting that they worked in bed, nearly three quarters (73 per cent) were men.

Claire Sellick of Infosecurity Europe, which commissioned the street survey, said, “Mobile devices and laptops have delivered great freedom by enabling people to work when they are out of the office or on the move – but surely the fact that so many people are now working from bed is just going too far!

“But on the darker side, this survey reveals the scale of the problem for IT security departments who have to secure sensitive communications or transactions, wherever they are being made.

“Of people who work from a mobile device, more than one in four admitted they don’t use strong security – so they are leaving themselves vulnerable to security breaches.”

Of those people who said they do work from bed, 30 per cent say they do an hour or more a day – which quickly adds up over the course of a week or month!
