LIVE offerings at the Stables could not feature more of an eclectic mix of music than tonight (May 8), with Boo Hewerdine and Brooks Williams on one stage and the Busnoys on the other.

Hewerdine and Williams’ extremely experimental album took just a day and a half to record, while the Busnoys provide intelligent jazz that is groovy one minute and atmospheric the next.

Pianist David Scheel – of whom the BBC said: “He stands alone... in a class of his own” – brings his successful send-up of classical music to town tomorrow night (May 9 ), fresh off performances in the West End and at Edinburgh Festivals.

The Martin Harley Band’s Glastonbury performances cemented their popularity on the acoustic scene, building them a strong fan base which will be pleased to know they are performing at the Wavendon venue on Wednesday (May 9).

Blazin’ Fiddles are a group of Highland fiddlers that the Scotsman described as “The Led Zeppelin of the folk world”, and appear as part of a ‘Taste of Scotland’ meal deal event on Thursday (May 10).

Sell-out tribute act G2 will perform four Genesis albums in their entirety over two nights on Friday and Saturday (May 11 and 12), with a discount offered if you book for both shows.

Buddy Whittington’s former boss John Mayall described him as possibly the greatest bluesbreaker of them all – an accolade setting him above Eric Clapton. Catch him on Monday (May 14).

Fronted by Danish double-bassist Jasper Høiby, MOBO-nominated Phronesis are “the most electrifying experience to be had in British jazz” according to The Telegraph – see them on Monday (May 14).
