Jubilympics has a juggle of dates

editorial image

AFTER the recent washout, Edlesborough Jubilympics will now be held on Sunday May 27 at the same venue – Edlesborough Green, and at the same time – 12 – 4pm.

Organisers have every hope that the waterlogged turf of May 5 will dry out for the new date, where EDaN’s Green Man will crown Abbie Head May Queen for 2012.

They will be celebrating with Maypole dancing, tugs of war from tinies to mums and dads, then the EDaN Mini-Olympics for all the children.

In the meantime under 8s are invited to dress up as heroes and heroines where trophies will be awarded to the best. All the entries are free and gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded on the podium to race winners.

The BBQ will be alight all afternoon and there will also be Diamond Jubilee Cream Teas.

Attendees are invited to relax and listen to Gt. Horwood Silver Band and Dagnall Community Choir, while there will be plenty of fun for all the kids with bouncy castle, jousting mat and segways for the bigger ones.

Also on show on offer will be a tombola, cakes, books and craft stalls – with the EDaN stocks as the final insult - a great time will be had by all. If you’d like to run your own stall contact chris@brooklyns.org.uk
