Tons of fun in Stewkley Players' farce
Ayckbourn adaptation set to raise a laugh.
AMATEUR thespians The Stewkley Players are pictured during final rehearsals for their latest production, Tons Of Money.
The farce, by Will Evans and Valentine and adapted by Alan Ayckbourn, is a fast-moving comedy set in Marlow during the 1920s.
Aubrey and Louise Allington, a young upper class couple, have enjoyed their lifestyle on debt and credit, but now the credit is running out and it's time for a reality cheque.
As the clock ticks down, however, they come into an inheritance and are determined that the money will not go to their creditors.
They dream up schemes to keep their hands on the cash, but, as everyone knows, the best laid plans of mice and mem are apt to go awry and when relatives, friends and even their staff get in on the act things start to get complicated.
Performances are in Stewkley Village Hall on March 24, 25, 26 and 27 at 8pm.
The doors open at 7.30pm and there is a licensed bar.
Tickets are available now by phoning the box office on 07845 489167.
