Velvet-toned Blues and Rock Artist returns to the Limelight Theatre
KNOWN for his excellent song-writing abilities and rich soulful vocals, Marcus Malone is a heavyweight on the Blues-Rock live circuit. Backed by a fantastic band, he returns to the Limelight on Friday, February 17, playing songs from his back catalogue and latest album Let the Sunshine In.
Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Marcus Malone’s style has developed over the years from his heavy metal roots which characterised his first album release with United Artists Records (now EMI Capitol). Since 1999 he has produced five studio albums, and has gathered a loyal following throughout Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK.
He has opened for the great BB King at the Royal Albert Hall, and played with the likes of Walter Trout, Gene Black, and Huey Morgan from the Fun Lovin’ Criminals. Respected by his peers and critics alike, his latest album, Let the Sunshine In, has been praised as “a perfect balance between blues, rock, soul and funk”.
Marcus’s mix of deep toned grooves ranging from heavy rock to soulful blues/rock ballads are backed up by a powerful touring unit in the form of Stuart Dixon with his exhilarating guitar solos and speedy licks, and an equally hot rhythm section consisting of Chris Nugent on drums and Johan Buys on bass. London based session guitarist, Michael Casswell, has also recently joined the ranks, having previously played with Brian May and Cozy Powell.
If you’re looking for an evening of exhilarating live music then this is the gig for you! Tickets can be booked via the Limelight box office on 01296 431 272 or via our website, www.qpc.org priced at £12 and £10 for concessions.
