Leighton’s drama group is looking for a star

An award-winning drama group is seeking new Leighton stars to join them team for this years’ pantomime.

Leighton Buzzard Drama Group is holding open auditions to find young performers for roles in ‘Dick Whittington’ that will take place in January 2013.

So if you are a singer, dancer or gymnast there will a part for you.

Director Jo Taylor says: “We are auditioning for all the lead roles, but especially looking for vocalists, dancers and a very special gymnast to play Tommy the Cat.

“And the judging panel promise to be nice – there are no nasty comments at these auditions. We are a very friendly group who are always looking for new talent, especially younger performers over the age of 16.”

The shows will take place in January 2013, and you will need to be available during October, November and December for rehearsals.

Auditions will be held at Arden House, West Street on Sunday from 1pm and details can be found at www.lbdg.org.uk.

Dick Whittington will be on at the Leighton Buzzard Theatre, Lake Street, between January 4 and 19 on a Thursday and Friday evening and three shows on a Saturday.

Tickets start from just £8.50 and are available from the Theatre box office on 0300 300 8125.
