Little Shop of Horrors to open for business
Little Shop of Horrors
LEIGHTON Masqueraders celebrate their 30th year with a cult classic at the town’s Lake Street theatre. The group is following up their successful production of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with the outrageous sci-fi musical, Little Shop of Horrors.
An affectionate spoof of 1950s horror and science fiction movies, Little Shop was created by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken and based on a low budget cult 1960 black comedy film directed by Roger Corman.
Seymour, a meek shop assistant from a skid row flower shop, becomes an overnight sensation after discovering an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. As he tries to keep the ever-growing plant content, our hero exasperates his boss, meets a sweet girl, and encounters a deranged dentist. Will any of them survive? Go al9ong and find out!
Little Shop runs from May 30 to June 2. Tickets from the box office 0300 300 8125.
