A WOBURN couple who terrorised elderly neighbours have been issued with interim Anti-Social Behaviour Orders by Bedford magistrates.
Linda Cook and David McGhee, both previously subject to ASBOs while living in the Milton Keynes area, will now have to curb their behaviour or face prison.

In a case brought by Mid Beds District Council, the magistrates were told that in 2007, Cook was homeless and Aragon Housing Association found her a property in Woburn.

The court heard that Cook and McGhee drank heavily and had many, sometimes violent, arguments.

Police were called and nearby elderly residents became alarmed and frightened. Some even moved out of their homes to stay with relations for safety and assurance.

Following the hearing, district council anti social behaviour reduction co-ordinator, Graham Caves, said: “The orders demonstrate that Mid Beds District Council will not tolerate behaviour such as demonstrated by Ms Cook and Mr McGhee and will take whatever action is necessary to protect the community, especially the elderly vulnerable people living close by.

“This has been a good example of partnership working between the local authority, police and Aragon Housing Association.”
