MP is deeply saddened
Linslade Post Office is to close despite fierce opposition from townspeople.

One of the first to speak out about the closure is MP Andrew Selous, he said: "Linslade Post Office closure is the wrong decision.

"I am deeply saddened by this decision which will greatly inconvenience local people. I understand that the management of Post Office Ltd have no plans to improve facilities at the remaining branches in the town and so I fear much longer queues.
"I also find it incredible that no account has been taken of the new houses being built in the town today and the extra housing that the government requires us to build in the future. I would also like to thank all those who have campaigned to keep Linslade and other branches open. It was right to protest against these closures and the way in which Post Office Ltd has been run by its owners and senior managers".
