Beds police arrest 32 people in Bedfordshire
A rucksack full of herbal cannabis and £6,000 cash was found when police raided a house in Nelson Road, Leighton, this week.

The swoop was part of a county-wide anti-drugs initiative by Beds Police which saw 32 people arrested.

It's the biggest number of arrests so far in a series of operations which started in June 2008 with the National Tackling Drugs Week.

The search and arrest warrants were backed up by work carried out by the Automatic Number Plate Recognition team, which was responsible for at least one large seizure of drugs in a car.

Det Chief Insp Greg Horsford said: "To get thirty two arrests in the week is fantastic."
