A man has died in a house fire in Himley Green, Linslade, this morning (Tuesday).

Fire crews from Leighton, Dunstable and Toddington fought the blaze.

Police, along with ambulance crews, were called to the house at 11.30am after being alerted by a member of the public. No one else was injured.

House to house enquiries are being carried out and a thorough investigation into how the fire started will now take place by both Beds Police and Bedfordshire and Luton Fire and Rescue Service.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "First and foremost our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man involved at this tragic time."
