Jury find William Cranston not guilty of murder
The jury in the trial of William Cranston, charged with the murders of Kay Morton and Paul Wilkins in Buckinghamshire, have found him not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter.
Cranston, aged 44, from Stoke Hammond, was found guilty on two counts of manslaughter by a unanimous verdict of the jury.
Detective Superintendent Rob Mason from Thames Valley Police said, "The deaths of Kay Morton and Paul Wilkins were a tragic event and remain devastating for Kay and Paul's children, relatives and friends. A number of families have been touched by this tragedy.
"This is not the verdict we were hoping for, but is does show the court felt Cranston was responsible for the deaths of Kay and Paul."
Sentencing will take place at Kingston Crown Court on Wednesday, July 22.
