LINSLADE'S Southcott Lower School is launching a fund-raising campaign to improve its buildings.
The Brick-by-Brick appeal offers past and present pupils and staff, as well as friends, the chance to have their name immortalised in stone.

The Bideford Green school wants to build a new £40,000 extension with changing facilities, a kitchenette and toilets and hopes the appeal will help to raise the cash.

School association chairman, Wendy Samuel, said that those taking part in the scheme would have their name engraved on a brick which will be laid in the walls of the extension.

“These bricks are a legacy that will last for many years to come and are a way to remember your connection and bond with Southcott Lower School wherever you may be in the future,” she said.

“It is hoped to provide comfortable and flexible changing and toilet facilities, suitable for a wide range of activities, to meet the needs of the children when they are using the outside areas of the school.

“It will also enable local community groups to use the outside areas of the school.”

To find out more telephone the school on (01525) 375753 or log onto www.southcottlowerschool.com.
