ENVIRONMENTAL charity The Greensand Trust is hosting an outdoors, eco-friendly, youth festival at Tiddenfoot Waterside Park on August 25 as a thank you to the young people who have taken part in its Youth Voice project.
The Big Greenie will feature a wide range of activities, focused on young people’s interests, to encourage them to get outdoors and make use of their local green spaces.

They will have the opportunity to challenge themselves and their friends on a
mobile climbing wall and high ropes course; take part in skateboarding and BMX coaching sessions; practice bushcraft and survival skills; create wonderful works of art using natural materials; discover the cycling routes around Leighton-Linslade; pick-up amazing circus skills; learn how to maintain their bikes, and lots more.

The Big Greenie will also provide young people with the chance to discover the opportunities available for them to take part in outdoors and environmental activities with local youth clubs and organisations.

To find out more telephone Vicky Inglis on (01525) %378101 or email vicky.inglis@greensandtrust.org

Youth Voice is a Greensand Trust initiative to raise awareness in young people of the opportunities presented by restored sand quarries to provide green spaces for leisure and places for housing.

It also aims to inspire the young people to take action for the environment and become involved in projects to manage and improve green spaces for their community.
