Audition time for Hitchcock classic at The Court Theatre

Men and women wanted for powerful melodrama.

AUDITIONS are being held at The Court Theatre, this Sunday (July 5) for the spellbinding and powerful Daphne Du Maurier classic, Rebecca.

The Tring Festival Company is looking for eight men and four women to play their part in this mesmerizing drama.

Who could forget the confrontations between Mrs Danvers (Judith Anderson) and Mrs De Winter (Joan Fontaine) in the 1940 black and white film Rebecca or Olivier's glacial indifference as Maxim De Winter?

For more than sixty years, audiences around the world have praised du Maurier's novel as a blend of mystery, horror, romance, and suspense.

The story concerns a woman who marries an English nobleman and returns with him to Manderley, his country estate.

There, she finds herself haunted by reminders of his first wife, Rebecca, who died in a boating accident less than a year earlier.

The mysterious housekeeper Mrs Danvers doesn't make anything easier for her either. Then the plot takes a true Hitchcockian twist halfway through...
