A brave schoolgirl from Leighton Buzzard has had her hair cut short - in front of her fellow pals at assembly.
Eleanor Bennett, 9, had about 12 inches of her locks chopped off for charity and in tribute to her grandfather Francis Donatelli who died in May after suffering Parkinson’s.
To date, she has raised more than £1,150 for Parkinson’s UK, while her hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
Eleanor was helped out by local hairdresser Emilia Palmiero, based at Brown’s Wood, who kindly offered to donate her time to cut her hair.
Her mum Carla said: “My daughter always wanted hair like Rapunzel but when her grandfather died she decided to do something to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK.
“She has done so well fundraising and she likes her new hairstyle.
“Please help her support two wonderful charities and make her drastic hair cut really special.”
Eleanor, who attends a school in Bletchley, has many comments on her Justgiving page. For details and to donate to the fund, visit https://www.justgiving.com/Eleanor-Bennett/
