Biggest ever pub tour arrives in Leighton today

Two Leighton pubs are playing a part in Britain’s Biggest Pub Tour (BBPT) which takes place today.

Stonegate Pub Company has organised the event which sees its 620 bars organising fundraising events galore to raise money for Variety, the Children’s Charity.

As well as hosting fun events at the pubs, across towns and cities from the Isle of Wight to Inverness, a giant BBPT passport is journeying 5,555 miles throughout the UK visiting each Stonegate business, by an assortment of unique and entertaining methods of transport.

Once in Leighton, the tour will visit the Litten Tree and the Lancer, both located on Lake Street. The passport will arrive at the Litten Tree at 3pm, delivered by Aylebury’s famous ducks, on bikes.

The two pubs have teamed up to transport the passport by cycling 28 miles to the next destination, Yates’s in Bedford.

The company smashed its fundraising target of £100,000 within just six weeks of the 19-week tour putting it on track to be the biggest ever single fundraising event in aid of Variety with over £170,000 raised so far.
