Be a business winner

BUSINESSES in Leighton Buzzard have until Thursday, May 3 to get their entries in to a county awards scheme.

Companies will be able to fine tune their entries to the Bedfordshire Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Awards to have a chance of winning a £5,000 advertising prize from media partner Premier Newspapers.

Damian Cummins, from the FSB, said: “In the past we have always attracted winning entries from exciting and successful businesses in the Buzz, this year they appear to be hiding”

Gennaro Borelli, from I Love Leighton Buzzard, said: “This is a great opportunity for any business in Leighton Buzzard or Linslade to get involved in these high profile and prestigious awards; we’re completing our entries now”.

Any firms in Bedfordshire, either self employed or with up to 200 employees, can enter up to three categories out of the 15 available. Application forms and tips on entering can be downloaded at www.fsb.org.uk/bedsawards

In addition to the title sponsor – Mercedes-Benz of Bedford – other companies have linked with the FSB to sponsor the 15 categories. These include Luton Borough Council, TaxAssist Accountants, Specsavers, Knowledge Hub and Basepoint.

The last overall winner of the awards local businesswoman Sabrina from Xquisite bridalwear in North Street said : “Our business went through the roof when we won the overall county award and the media coverage we got was phenomenal”.

All finalists will be invited to attend the glittering awards ceremony on Wednesday June 13, at the Mansion House, Shuttleworth.
