With opening of Center Parcs Woburn Forest just around the corner, the project has hit two major milestones.
The first lodges were handed over to Center Parcs from the contractors on December 16 and a third of the total Woburn Forest team has now been recruited.
Now 21 months into the construction of the new holiday village, the buildings are water-tight, recruitment and training is well underway and the forest is thriving as a result of the work of the base’s ground services manager. The housekeeping building, technical services and arrivals lodge have been handed over, with more than 90 members of the Woburn Forest team already based at the site in the completed buildings.
Between Christmas and the opening, all buildings will be fitted-out, furnished and handed over to Center Parcs.
There will be 1,500 staff at the village by the spring, all of whom will be trained, inducted and familiarised with the village so that they are ready for guests next year.
Opening is scheduled for spring 2014.
