Plenty of businesses have registered for a free networking event being held at Leighton Buzzard Golf Club next week – and it is on course for breaking all records.

All firms within a 15-mile radius of the town are welcome to come to the event, which is being organised by Leighton-Linslade Town Council in conjunction with networking group, LB Connect.

Starting at 6pm on Wednesday, April 30, visitors will have three hours to share information and build their supplier base, hand out business cards, develop links with the community and discuss business support opportunities with council representatives and other organisations.

Two guest speakers will deliver useful business tips. Uzair Kharawala, from SF Digital, will speak about the pros and cons of Google AdWords. Chris Davies, of Sandler Training, will give a talk entitled ‘Don’t leave the room wishing you had achieved more’ and also give some advice regarding Twitter for business.

Refreshments and canapés will be available and a free business mailing list will be given to all visitors.

“Last year’s event attracted over 130 businesses and we are hoping this year’s event will be even bigger,” said Jo Martindale, at Leighton Linslade Town Council.

“It is important that local enterprise has a better understanding of what is available to them locally, whether personally or through business.

“Our event will get like-minded business people working and communicating together and encourage new businesses to the town.

“We have worked with LB Connect on previous events and with their own experience of running business exhibitions and involvement on our partnership committee, they not only bring skills to this event but will also bring along many successful business people who are part of their group.”

Representatives from businesses large and small can register for the event by visiting www.leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk or by contacting Jo on 01525 631911 or emailing her: jo.martindale@leightonlinslade-tc.gov.uk
