Leighton haulier Miniclipper Logistics has won TWO national awards in one day!
The Billington Road-based truck and warehouse operator entered what is considered the “Oscars of the transport industry”, the Motor Transport Awards.
Held at a prestigious Park Lane hotel in London annually, the event was attended by almost 2,000 industry heads.
On two previous occasions, Miniclipper had reached the finals. This year, guest presenter at the black tie event in the Great Room at the Grosveor, comedian Dara O’Briain announced the winner of the Partnership award was Miniclipper.
Partnered with their Milton Keynes customer Nexans, Miniclipper has achieved such a close partnership that the customer/supplier relationship has been used worldwide within Nexans as an example of a perfect logistics function.
To increase their chances of a trophy win, Miniclipper MD Peter Masters decided to enter for an UKWA (UK Warehousing Association) Environmental Award, also to be held in London at the Dorchester Hotel the same day.
Keen to be seen as a “clean” transport company, contrary to the industry image, the company has recently invested in new warehouse lighting and upv panels on the warehouse roofs, ensuring one large warehouse is carbon neutral.
A green policy covering all aspects of the business including recycling, truck driving styles, and route optimisation wowed the judges and Miniclipper was announced the winner.
