Call for rates freeze in Budget from tax and accountancy specialist
Small businesses should be given a vital boost in tomorrow’s Budget (March 20) with a freeze on business rates, a Leighton and Dunstable-based tax and accountancy specialist has urged.
“Freezing business rates would give a major boost to many local businesses,” said Dave Masterson who runs TaxAssist Accountants .
“We would also like to see the Chancellor increase the VAT registration threshold and widen the Employers National Insurance Contributions holiday for start-ups.
These simple measures would provide significant savings for many small businesses across Bedfordshire.”
TaxAssist Accountants has been taking soundings from its 43,000 UK small business customers and has held forums across the country, including in the South and East of England with local MPs, local government representatives, banking, finance and business rescue specialists, to raise the big issues facing small business.
The national network is feeding the results back to policy makers, commercial banking teams and business organisations at national and local level.
