Small businesses can find out how they can compete to become NHS suppliers at an event on November 26.

The University of Bedfordshire’s Knowledge Network will be joined by two of the NHS’s most influential procurement figures who will offer an insight into the opportunities available within the NHS network.

Howard Rolfe, NHS Director of Procurement in the East of England, and Dr Anne Blackwood, Chief Executive Health Enterprise East will reveal the range of services and products the NHS buys in and how SMEs can become NHS suppliers.

There will also be case studies of successful businesses that have increased sales and created jobs through the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI).

The National Health Service spends billions of pounds each year on products and services.

Mr Rolfe and Dr Blackwood will tell the Knowledge Network event at Putteridge Bury campus that the majority of suppliers to the NHS are small and medium sized enterprises. Goods procured by the NHS range from everyday goods like stationery and bed linen to high-end clinical equipment.

The event on November 26 starts at 5.30pm and there is a networking opportunity.

For ticket prices and other details phone 0800 328 5334 or email knowledge@beds.ac.uk.
