Leighton Buzzard’s one stop shop for materials and gifts is closing its doors after five years of business.

Making The Best offers customers Chalk Paint, decorative paint by Annie Sloan, candle making, soap making, beer, wine and cider making supplies, interiors and gifts.

Patricia Mellett Brown opened the store in 2010 and believes it is now time for a change and pursue other challenges.

She said: “We have come to the end of our lease and I decided I wanted to do new things.

“I will be concentrating on my soft furnishings which will be available at the home furnishings store, Me Me Me, and online.

“I will also be running different classes at Me Me Me, I wanted to focus on different things.”

The store owner runs Chalk Paint classes and sessions on wine, cider and beer making.

She added: “It has been a very successful adventure and have loved every minute of it.

“We are going to miss our loyal customers but it is now time for a new adventure.

“I want to say thank you to all our customers and the community for their support over the last five years, we have made many friends along the way.”

The Bridge Street store is closing down at the end of the month.
