Leighton firms Creighton’s Chocolaterie and The Parlour enjoyed sweet success when they were commissioned to produce a cake for celebrity chef Raymond Blanc.
The cake was presented to Raymond to mark the opening of his 20th Brasserie Blanc restaurant, in Beaconsfield.
Lucy Huntington, of co-owner of Creightons, said: “We have another branch opposite the new restaurant and were asked as a local supplier.
“The cake was inspired by Raymond’s favourite childhood dessert, Tarte Tatin.
“We baked an apple and cinnamon cake, which was sandwiched with our signature salted caramel, cream cheese frosting and decorated with fresh fruit and flowers. The cake was finished with a red ribbon which the chef cut after his speech.”
Lucy and co-owner Andrea Huntington got to meet Raymond after the presentation.
Lucy added: “He gave us a recipe for nougat which we may use in a new truffle! After the event, he thanked us with a personal tweet. He adds to our list of celebrity customers which also includes Vernon Kay, Zoe Ball and Johnny Depp.”
