No delight with attitude over missing food

A shocked customer was allegedly abused after driving to a Linslade takeaway to complain that half the food from her delivered order was missing.

Leanne Curtis, of Sandhills, ordered two meals from Turkish Delight, in Wing Road through the Just Eat app, but was dismayed when one of the meals was missing.

The 26-year-old said: “When my order arrived half of it was missing.

“I called Turkish Delight to try and rectify the order, I tried for 20 minutes to no avail, the line was constantly busy. I had no other option than to drive down to the shop to ask for a full refund.

“When I told the man half my order was missing he shouted ‘it’s already gone’, I explained that only half of it had been delivered, the other half was missing and I would like my money back.

“He then stomped off and came back shouting at me saying it was not his problem and he would not give me my money back, because it had been ordered via Just Eat.

“I queried how that makes a difference as either way he would have received the payment via Just Eat, therefore he could refund me.

“He then reacted extremely aggressively, I was shocked.”

After leaving the takeaway empty-handed Leanne wrote a review about her experience on Trip Advisor.

She told the LBO: “I feel very strongly that this needs to be highlighted as it is astonishing that a business is allowed to operate in this way and treat the local community in such a diabolical manner.

“I certainly would never order from there again given the shocking service and treatment I received!”

The LBO contacted Turkish Delight on numerous occasions for a comment, the manager was unable to comment and the owner said he was too busy at the time to make a comment.
