The importance of shopping locally will once again be championed on Saturday (July 2) as Leighton Buzzard hosts its very own Independents Day event.
During the promotion, which has been organised by LB First to tie in with the national Independents Day campaign, there will be a variety of extra stalls alongside the regular market – providing food, drink, hand made and locally made goods.
Gennaro Borrelli, chairman of LB First, said: “The LB First stall will be selling an exclusive range of Leighton Buzzard merchandise. So show your support for all our local independent shops, market traders and producers this Saturday.”
In addition LB First will be showing of its new beer made locally by the Leighton Buzzard Brewery Company.
Mr Borrelli added: “Given that John from Leighton Buzzard Brewery is one of our members we thought it would be a great way to raise the profile of the town and encouraging people who have recently moved to the town on the new estates as well as people from further afield to come into the town to see what a wonderful array of independent shops, local producers and market traders we have in our historical market town.
“The beer is a great addition to a growing line of exclusive Leighton Buzzard merchandise which gives our town a growing brand to help raise the profile and encourage people to shop locally.
“LB First has always backed things that help our town to be vibrant and thriving and this is the message that we will be sending out to all who visit.”
