Carnival princess selection disco is a fun family night

Organisers of this year’s Leighton-Linslade Carnival princess selection disco are aiming to make it a right royal occasion.

The 2014 takes place on Thursday, March 13 and you don’t have to be an aspiring princess to attend.

Amanda White, of the carnival committee, said: “Come along, it’s for the community and it’s also a good opportunity for the children to meet all sorts of people like the mayor and have a lot of fun along the way. You don’t need to enter the princess selection to come along, and boys can come too. It’ll be a lovely family night out.”

The disco takes place at the Royal British Legion in West Street from 7-9pm. Tickets are £3 and there will be a raffle and a soft drink bar.

The two princesses (in school Years 5 to 8) who are selected will get to keep their tiara, specially-made necklace and dress. Simply fill in the form, in this week’s LBO, and take it along on the night.

This year’s carnival takes place on July 12. For more information see the website
