Catch up with Blabbermouth along the canal in Leighton-Linslade
The Roaming Busking Tour has begun
A canal boat-living singer is in the Leighton area for three days in July having just released a new single.
Blabbermouth, aka Steve Thompson, is touring the UK's waterways on his houseboat to promote his new song, I Return, which was mastered by Pink Floyd's sound engineer of 25 years Andy Jackson.
The 'Roaming Busking Tour' dates will all take place by his boat and he cruises through this area on the Grand Union on July 4, 5 6 and 7, starting with Pitstone at lunchtime on the 4th, then Ivinghoe in the evening. Cheddington and Horton on the 5th. Then Slapton, Leighton and Linslade, on the 6th. Soulbury and Stoke Hammond on 7th.
All dates and arrival times are approximate to allow for unexpected problems on the canal.
Steve's songs have a cheery feel as they are mostly about death. His latest chiller is written from the perspective of a ghost or spirit who is desperate to return to his love.
Accompanying the track is the heart-rending "Death of a Songwriter", taken from his forthcoming EP, narrating the life and death of a famous musician, whose compositions are continuously played on the radio years after his death, thus plaguing the love of his life with everlasting grief.
Steve's roaming tour will cover 137 miles, 125 locks, 2 moveable bridges, six small aqua-ducts and four tunnels as he travels from London to Leicestershire.
If you are up for a little eccentricity, why not catch up with Steve along the canal at some point.
